about clare

Art has been a part of Nisker’s life since she was an infant in Greenwich, England. Drawing inspiration from the people and places around her, Clare loves to travel to exotic places for a fresh perspective to implement in her art. Nisker's dedication and continued study in both art history and archeology inspire her to create pieces that emanate both spiritual warmth and purpose.

"Ideas cultivate from deep within my soul," Clare explains. “When I am painting, my
subconscious takes over and that is why I feel each of my paintings has a
piece of my heart within it.”

Clare’s artistic flare and eye for design have served her well as she has taken her talents one step further by designing high-end couturier eveningwear for both Canada and the United States. But despite her success in the couture industry, there’s nothing she’d rather be doing than immersing herself in a world of vivid colours and fresh paintbrushes.

Though she loves painting in the open air, Clare gets just as much satisfaction working from her private studio in the Thornhill home she shares with her husband Jason. With chords of Vivaldi and Bach playing in the background, Clare embraces each moment she has to create a timeless piece to add to her art collection.

“My goal is to bring nature indoors, to the home and office, so you can take
some time each hectic day to appreciate the awe-inspiring beauty of nature,” she said.
“Texture and colour are so key to my art because they help evoke
that same calm, serene feeling you instantly feel when looking at a sunset
or sitting by the lake. Its nature you can touch, the same way it touches
          something within you.”

Nisker’s art has gotten the attention of clients around the world and her efforts to raise money for charity have gotten the attention of local and international media and other like-minded philanthropists. Her work mostly hangs in private galleries and in professional offices where the goal is to turn an impersonal room into a warm oasis.

Recently featured in Lifestyles Magazine, Nisker hopes to sell out of her iconic art prints, which will raise $30,000.00 to feed the hungry. “As an artist, there’s nothing more inspirational,” she said.

“I’ve always felt like I’ve received so much from my art, it seemed only
appropriate to use my art to give back to people who need a little bit
of magic and inspiration in their lives,” she says. “Nothing can make
          me happier.”
